大阪桐蔭２回戦突破！中田、ホームランはお預け

大阪桐蔭が福井に１７－０（５回コールド）で大勝し、３回戦に進んだ。初回に３番山口祥継（３年）の２ランで先制。４回には打者１５人の猛攻で１１得点を挙げるなど力の差を見せつけた。

大阪桐蔭が危なげない戦いぶりで三回戦進出を決めた。

中田翔はこの日は４打数２安打２打点でチームの勝利に大きく貢献した。ホームランこそ出なかったが、チャンスにしっかりと打点を稼ぎ大会前に言っていたホームラン狙いのバッティングではなく、チームの勝利に貢献する打撃に終始徹した。

しかしまだ２回戦、今まで対戦した相手高校には申し訳ないが、まだ勝つか負けるかの切羽詰まった試合を大阪桐蔭も中田もしていない。現段階においては中田が打たなくても圧倒的な力の差で楽に勝てるし、チームの勝利に対してそんなに大きなプレッシャーは試合中にもないだろう。こういった試合状況では中田は大きく力む必要は無い。

しかし、大会も終盤に差し掛かり、対戦相手も私立の強豪になってくると中田も悠長な事は言ってられない。チームの勝利のために打点を狙うだけではおそらく強豪校には勝てないだろう。必ず中田のホームランが必要になる時がくる、一発で試合をひっくり返せる、流れを一変させるホームランを打たなければならない時が。

そこでホームランを打たなければ今まで打ってきた８７本のホームランは色あせてしまうし、本当の大打者にはなれない。

中田が一年生のときの甲子園デビュー戦である春日部共栄戦を見た私は試合の一番苦しい所でホームランを放った中田の姿が強く焼きついている。この一年生は将来どれだけ凄いバッターになるのか想像も付かなかったくらいだ。中田には昔からここ一番でホームランを打てる確かな技術と強い精神力ある。

この大阪大会には全国でも十分に通用する強豪校が山ほどある。それらを撃破するのはいかに中田がいる大阪桐蔭でも簡単な事ではないだろう。しかし、それらとの強豪校との試合の一番苦しい場面で中田にはホームランを放ってほしい。ホームラン記録がどうだととか、スカウトがたくさん来ているとかそんな邪念が思い浮かばないような１点を争う緊迫した試合のなかでの１発が中田の真骨頂である。

明日もまた試合があるが、１打席１打席緊張しながら打席に入ってほしい。そして、必ず勝って甲子園に近づいてほしい。ガンバレ
