日本ハムが楽天を9－4とくだし、対戦成績4勝1敗で日本シリーズへの進出を決めた。注目の中田は代打で出場も楽天・青山の前に三球三振。結果を残せなかった。日本ハムは1回、ワンアウト満塁と楽天先発の藤原を攻め立て、スレッジのセンターへの犠牲フライで先制。続く2回にも、田中賢介のライトフェンスに直撃する三塁打で追加点を取ると、続く森本が藤原の真ん中に来た変化球を思いっきり叩きレフトへの2ランホームラン。4－0とリードを広げた。その後、楽天もセギノール、宮出らのタイムリーで1点差に迫るが、日本ハムは7回、スレッジ、鶴岡のタイムリーで楽天を突き放し、8回には、またもやスレッジが豪快に3ランホームランを放ち試合を決めた。最終回は、武田久がマウンドにあがり楽天打線を封じ込め、9－4と勝利。日本シリーズ進出を決めた。
野村監督の胴上げシーンは本当に感動しました。野村監督にお世話になった、楽天の選手は勿論ですが、日本ハムの吉井コーチや稲葉選手が胴上げの輪に加わり、チームを関係なく野村監督に感謝をしていたようですね。こう見てみると、あらためて野村監督が野球界に残したものというのは本当に大きかったんだなぁと痛感させられます。野村監督、本当にお疲れ様でした。
対する我らが中ちゃんはと言うと・・・、キャッチャー大野の代打で出場
←登場の時は球場がドッと沸き中田も気合が入っていました。
「よし、行け、中田。ここは一発狙っても全然OKな場面やぞ。」
とまあ、おかしなテンションになりながら応援していました。
そして結果は・・・・・・・・・・・・
中ちゃんのへこんだ顔を見ていただければ分かると思いますが、三球三振。
中ちゃんが出てきた時は、じっくりと中田の打席を楽しもう」と思ったのですが・・・・・
あっと言う間に終わってしまいました。残念！！
まあ、日本ハムにはまだ日本シリーズがあるので、そこでの活躍に期待しましょう。
