ここまでの打率が３割８分１厘と、数字上では好調をキープしている中田。７日に行われたヤクルトとのオープン戦でも、二番手の中沢から右中間への二塁打を放ち、きっちりと首脳陣にアピールした。

普通ならば、この３割８分１厘という打率は、文句の付けようがない数字のはず。

３割を打てば一流と言われている世界で、それを大幅に上回る数字を残しているのだから、誉められる事はあっても文句を言われる事は考えにくい。

しかし、首脳陣の評価も、中田自身の感触も、そして見ている我々の感じ方も、どことなくこの成績に、いまいちしっくり来ていない気がします。

何て言えば良いのか難しいのですが、何か少しモヤモヤした感じがどこかにあるような・・・。
どうしてでしょう？

札幌に戻ってから少し調子を落としていて、直近の成績があまり良くないという事もあるのでしょうが、多分それだけではない。

やっぱり数字では出ない部分での、不安がどこかにあるのでしょう。
かなり個人的な意見になりますが、この辺りがモヤモヤの原因かなぁというものをまとめてみました。

アウトの内容があまり良くない

恐らく、ヒットが出ているにも関わらず、モヤモヤが残る最たる原因はこれなのかなと思います。やっぱり、先日のヤクルト戦でも由規相手に２三振と、このオープン戦では、三振の多さが非常に目に付きます。

三振は凡退の中でもかなり目立つ部類のアウトなので、見ている人のイメージに残りやすく、「負けた」という印象を与えてしまうのでしょう。

三振以外もフライアウトや、甘めのボールをミスショットするシーンもちょくちょくあって、「打てそうなのに、打てなかった」と言う事がモヤモヤに繋がっているのではと思います。

ホームランが出ていない

最初の練習試合でホームランを打ってからその後、ホームランが出ていません。というよりむしろ、ホームランが出る・出ない以前、に中田の打球は良い角度で上がっていません。

こちらのコメントで中田は元々打球が上がりにくいバッターだと書きましたが、今はその中でもかなり打球が上がらない時期になっています。

あまり、ホームランを求めすぎるのは、少し可哀想かもしれませんが、首脳陣もファンも中田のホームランには、凄く期待をしているはず。

ここらでスパッと一発行けば、かなりいいアピールになると思います。

四球が少ない

これは初球から積極的に行く中田にとって諸刃の剣になってしまうのですが、粘って粘って四球を取ると言う事が現状かなり少ないと思います。

初球、二球目と積極的に振っていくのは中田の持ち味なので、そのまま続けた方がいいでしょうが、追い込まれてから簡単に三振をしてしまうのではなく、一球でも多く相手投手にボールを投げさせ、最終的に四球をもぎ取る、もしくは甘くなったボールを叩く。

こういった事が増えてくれば、相手投手にもかなり嫌がられますし、首脳陣の評価も一気に上がると思います。田中賢介選手などは、２-０で追い込まれても気がつけば２-３くらいにはなっていますもんね。あれは相手バッテリーは嫌でしょうね。

ストレートに対応出来ていない

これは、ダルビッシュ兄さんもこちらで言っていたので、あまりここで言う必要はありませんが、やっぱり１５０km近くの速いストレートには、上手く対応出来てないようですね。由規を打てないのも、この辺が原因だと思いますが、真ん中付近に来てもファールにしたり、フライを上げたりと、何か少し差し込まれている感じがします。

上のホームランの話ではありませんが、仮に１５０ｋｍのストレートをレフトスタンドへ放り込めるようになってくると、中田完全開花と言ってもいいのではないでしょうか？

おわりに

少し愚痴っぽくなってしまいましたが、オープン戦は泣いても笑っても残り６試合しかありません。

オープン戦の終盤というのは、どのチームでも先発ローテーションを考えながらの投手起用になるため、一線級の投手がたくさん出てきます。特にパ・リーグは開幕がもうすぐそこですので、ほぼレギュラーシーズンと変わらない体勢で試合をしてくる形になります。

つまり、ここからの６試合というのは、レギュラーシーズンと同じ状況で活躍出来るかどうかが問われる重要な試合だという事です。

相手チームの一線級とまともに戦えるという事が証明出来れば、開幕レギュラーの道も自ずと開けてきます。また、監督と言うのは、どうしても調子のいい選手をどんどん使っていきたいと考えます。ここ数試合で「中田は今調子が良くない」と思われると、開幕戦への出場はかなり厳しくなってしまいます。

ポテンヒットでも、内野安打でも何でも構わない。「こいつは今、何をやっても絶好調だなぁ」と思わせる事が出来れば、試合に使いたくなるのは監督として当然の事です。

今年の中田は、本当に良く頑張っています。

その頑張りを無にしないためにも、ここまでの集大成をこの６試合にぶつけてほしいですね。そして、開幕レギュラーという結果になれば、本当に最高の事だと思います。
