中田翔が京都両洋との練習試合で２００７年の第１号を放った！
一回の第１打席の初球を見事にとらえ、左翼に１３０メートルの特大アーチ。
中田翔はこの日、４番・右翼で１０日の大院大高戦に続いて先発出場。
前の打者が四球で歩いた直後、一死一、二塁で中田は相手先発の左腕・井木投手（２年）の内角高めの直球に瞬時に反応。
打球は一瞬にして左翼フェンスを越え、場外へ。
推定飛距離１３０メートルの特大ホームランをレフトスタンド場外へ突き刺した。
これが中田翔、高校通算６９本目のホームランになり、先輩の平田（中日）や城島（マリナーズ）の記録７０本に大手をかけた。
中田翔は前の打者がフォアボールで歩かされた後の初級・しかも中田翔が唯一苦手とするインコースへの早い球を豪快に放り込んだ。
このホームランは中田翔の成長を裏付けるのに十分なものであったと僕は思う。
去年の夏、早実・斉藤にインコースを厳しく攻められ３三振と全く結果を残せなかった中田翔がそのインコース、しかも左ピッチャーのくい込んで来るボールをホームランできたというのは大きな成長を成し遂げたといっても間違いないだろう。
さらに、打ったのが初球というのがまたこのホームランの価値をあげている。初めての対戦でそのピッチャーの初球を捕らえられるのは体が自然と反応している証拠である。
偉大なる先輩平田の記録に大手をかけた中田翔。
歴代のすごいバッターを一人づつ超えていくのは楽しみでもあるだろうし、それなりにプレッシャーでもあると思う。しかし、これを超えて行かなければ、目標である甲子園優勝も成し遂げられないだろう。中田翔なら間違いなくやれるはずだ。
