第７９回選抜高校野球大会の大会初日の第二試合で中田翔率いる
大阪桐蔭と対戦する日本文理高校。このチームの戦力を徹底分析。

日本文理のエース栗山はプロ注目の快速右腕。

栗山は去年の選抜で活躍した同校の１年先輩である横山（現阪神）との２枚看板で新潟勢選抜初勝利に貢献し、チームをベスト８まで導いた。

この時は背番号１０を背負い、横山にかわりピンチに登場し相手打線をねじ伏せた。これが栗山の名前を一躍全国区にまで押し上げた。

今年のドラフトでも阪神がこの栗山をリストアップしている事を早くも表明。今年の甲子園でも成長ぶりを観察したいとかなり期待度は高いようだ。

栗山はスリークオーター気味から繰り出されるMAX１４３キロのストレートと、切れ味鋭い２種類のスライダー投げてくる。ストレートは肘がやや下がって出てくる為シュート気味に変化する。その為、右バッターにはインコースに食い込んできて左バッターには外に逃げるかなり打ちにくい球道になってる。

そこに、鋭い切れ味のスライダーが来るのでバッターはどうしても打つのが非常に困難である。

スライダーも縦に大きく切り裂くものと、斜めに鋭く変化する２種類のものを使い分ける。縦に落ちるボールはブレーキが非常に利いていてストライクに見える球が実際に振ってみるとワンバウンドであったというケースがかなり多いようだ。

斜めに変化するスライダーも右バッターにとっては一度体に向かってくるように見えるため、どうしても腰が引けて、見逃してしまう。これらの、ストレートとスライダーを上手く組み合わせられると、攻略するのはかなり困難だろう。

栗山はこれを武器に昨秋の公式戦でも７０回３分の２を投げて７３の三振を奪っている。計算では１イニングに一つ以上は三振を奪ってくる。

これには中田翔率いる超強力打線の大阪桐蔭も苦労するだろう。

攻略するには早い段階でストレート、スライダーのどちらかに球種を絞り込んで、引っ張り込まずセンター中心もしくは逆方向への打撃を心がけるのが一番だと考える。

しかし、そこまで徹底した攻め方をしても攻略するのはかなり大変だろう。

まあ、大阪桐蔭がいかに栗山を打ち崩すのかはこの試合の大きな見所であり、楽しみな部分でもある。
