中田翔ライバル　明治神宮の覇者　高知

昨年秋の明治神宮大会の覇者・高知。全国の学校が打倒高知で春の選抜に乗り込んでくる中、投手を中心とするすばらしい守備と強力打線で秋・春の連覇を狙う。

高知は昨年秋の明治神宮大会を中国チャンピオンの広島広陵に８対３、東海チャンピオンの常葉菊川に８対２、近畿チャンピオンの報徳学園に１０対５といずれも楽な試合で圧勝している。その要因は初回に大量点を取り、後半楽に逃げ切るというチームの勝ち方がしっかりしているのが一つであろう。

上記の３試合においても初回に２点を挙げ、その後９回まで、一度も追いつかれずに勝利している。もっと言えば、序盤３回の間に追加点を取り、相手の追いつく気持ちそぎ試合を有利に進めて勝利している。

つまり、高知は打線に火がつくのが非常に速い。言い換えると、それだけ試合の序盤から相手投手のボールに順応し、的確に弱点をつける、鋭い観察力とそれを実行に移せる適応力が他校よりもずば抜けている。

春の選抜で中田翔が投手として高知と対戦するのであれば、立ち上がりに細心の注意をはらい、押さえることができれば、勝利も見えるだろう。

ただ、立ち上がりというのはプロの投手でも、なかなか上手くできない事がおおいので、やはり、そこをついてくる高知は抜け目がなく侮れない。

春は高知中心に大会が進んでいきそうだ。
