大阪桐蔭の強さの秘密は強力な打撃力に隠れて見失いがちだが
それはまさに鉄壁の守備にある。

大阪桐蔭のショートを守る丸山キャプテンの守備はまさに絶品といっても
過言ではない。

今日の試合でも初回の最初の打者が打った打球は
ライナー気味のハーフバウンドのようなゴロだった。

試合が始まっていきなり飛んでくるには本当に嫌な感じのごろで、
ワンバウンドした時点でエラーするかなとも一瞬思うほどのゴロだったが
丸山キャプテンはいとも簡単にさばき一塁へすばらしい送球。
足の運びにも何の躊躇もなく全く危なげなく処理した。

その後も、ゆるいショートゴロをすばらしいダッシュで前進しショートバウンドに
あわしてさばいたものや、三遊間のゴロで飛び込んで取ったものもあった。

飛び込んでとったのなんて、ベースカバーのため一度セカンド方向にステップして
そこから、逆方向へ行ってとったものだから守備範囲はおそろしく広い。

肩も強いし、足も速いと本当にすばらしいが、最も優れているのは彼の
バランス感覚だろう。どんな体制になってもしっかりとボールを受けられるし、
送球もできるようになっている。

彼の守備はプロでも通用しそうなレベルにあると思います。

後、日本文理のファーストが２塁へ送球したすきをついてホームインした
走塁なども本当にセンスを感じます。

大阪桐蔭は中田翔が打てなくても本当に何とかできるチームです。
ただ、中田翔は次戦では必ずホームランを打ってくれます。

この記事は書く予定では無かったのですが今日実際に丸山キャプテンの
守備を見て書かずにはいられませんでした。
